Dear Rebel Regiment Parents and Students,

This is for information only in regards to Band Classes for 2007-2008.

It is not required that a student take a band class in the spring to remain eligible for the marching band but students will be required to audition. Students in the spring band classes will work on those audition requirements. The audition will be the same as the Clinic All-State Band audition requirements. In the future, because demand is so high to be in the Rebel Regiment Marching Band, it will become more and more difficult to make the band if the student is not in a spring band class. For those who are planning to take a band class in the spring the options are Jazz Band or one of the three concert bands. The Jazz Band will be limited to 25 students by recommendation only. If you are interested please see one of the band staff. The concert bands are as follows:

Honors Symphonic Band - 11-12 grades

Symphonic Band - 10th-12th grades

Concert Band - 10th-12th grades

9th Regiment Band - 9th grade

These bands will be assigned students by recommendation only. There is no limit on the size of these classes. I have included a sample of the registration card that Byrnes will use this year. Please study your options before you sign-up for your classes. If you plan to be a member of the marching band, it is highly recommended that you take the Marching Band class in the fall.
